Hope For Our Nation

I really wonder about our nation right now. With all the issues we have politically, socially, educationally and financially, I would say we are in a pickle. It is so sad to see that we live in a society that likes to point the finger at others and forget that when they point they have three fingers pointing back at them. We like to judge people but don't want anyone to judge us. But we need to remember what you do to others you actually bring it on yourself. No one seems to want to humble themselves. We really need to leave people alone. Let there business be there business and mind your own business.

We live in a gossip society and our news now has been so tabloidish that it can't be relied upon. We are a sad society only because left to our own we really will always act selfishly. You, yourself and yours. We need help and not a doctor Phil or some social guru. We really need Jesus to come back into our society. We need the word of God to be back in our schools. There is no fear of God so people are just doing whatever they think is right. Well I am here to tell you most of what we are doing in our society is not right. Many of our laws are not right. Many of the ways we treat our citizens is not right and we need Jesus to tell us what is right and wrong. The only hope for our nation is Jesus!

A Bright New Day

I feel this bright new day. The sun is shining and my smile is too. I feel a love that is so fresh and new. I have a warmth that warms as the sun. I radiate with a life giving spirit. I am overflowing with joy. Yes, I feel that this is a bright new day.

I fed about a hundred people this past thanksgiving. It's so powerful to make a difference, a positive difference in the life of someone else. After all what good is it to live for your own self? The needs are so great and there is so much to do outside of ourselves. So I have found me. It's so cool because not only am I smiling, God is smiling at me.

Thanksgiving and Giving Thanks

Thanksgiving and giving thanks. I think the two really are different. Seems like thanksgiving is really about a day of eating a big meal. I seldom hear anyone talk about giving thanks. I hear people talk about who is coming over. They talk about what they are going to eat. They watch a football game. They meet and greet new people. I have yet to be in a gathering for Thanksgiving and hear anyone talk about what they are thankful for. So with that I would say that Thanksgiving and giving thanks are different. What about you? Have you given thanks or are you just eating?

Henry Camphor: Changing the World One Thought at at Time

I often wondered how I am going to make a huge difference in the world. How am I going to change the world? Where will I begin? After all, there are many needs in the world all around on every side. Crazy thing about it is if I were to just look at my own life, heck I have needs myself. It is easy to get so consumed with our own needs that we forget that other people are experiencing some sort of need themselves. If we consider this fact it will keep us from getting into a pity party of how terrible our life is and how much we have failed and come short it this life. We can begin to realize that we are not alone.

We Need Each Other

I learned that in order to change the world I needed to change my thinking. My thoughts of how I am going to change the world gave way to how are we going to change the world. There is a difference in me trying to change the world for the better and teaming up with others to do the work. Also the moment I began to shift from being consumed with trying to meet my own needs to thinking of how I am gifted to meet the needs of others, then I found that my needs were actually being met. With this my conclusion was that I need others and others need me. Community is really about us and not just me. I can make a difference in the world on a greater scale when I partner with others who have the same desire.

The scope of this subject goes to the point that in changing the world, it is done one thought at a time. Starting with my own thoughts. Thoughts of team work and partnership as opposed to me, myself and I. The lesson learned is I need you and you need me and together we can change the world one thought at a time.

We are the 99% occupy oakland. It is amazing. Historic and educational. If you are a people person you would love being out here. I wonder though, where is the church? Where are the people of god? I know for sure there is two. Myself and marcello. No organized church group. I have seen budda folks, yoga folks, communist, this, that and the other. But no sign of the church. Oh there is a guy with a collar on...but as i said no sign of the church of the living god. People sharing ides and concepts and everything. No gospel no light no hope words. If we as the church are to be fishers of men then this is a great lake. Well i better get to work...on eating that is. The alameda labor council is feeding us. Occupy!
